Through the Headlines: The Metro Vancouver Housing Market Since 2008

Think Long-Term💡💭📈

The ebbs and flows of Metro Vancouver’s housing market are well documented. Check out the ups and downs reported since 2008. Two things stand out: the market can turn (either way) on a dime, and prices tend to move higher over the long run.

For those in my generation (millennials) and younger, it’s an important lesson to remember as we enter our prime homeownership years: everything is not as bad (or as good) as it seems at times.

I’ve had a strong interest in the news most my adult life - I asked for a paper Globe and Mail subscription for my 21st birthday.

Reading and staying engaged is crucial. While past performance can’t predict future outcomes, you can gain a general understanding of the market’s patterns.

In my personal opinion, with rates now on the decline, headlines will likely be much more positive this time next year, reflecting the ongoing highs and lows of this region’s real estate cycle.
